Calgary Flames Playoff Song [Free MP3]

For all the Calgary Flames fans out there… Me and my once college teammate Matt Canter used to drive to hockey games together & listen to this song to both pump ourselves up and release the tension with a good laugh. This is a rap song to the beat of “50 Cent – In Da Club”. I’m not sure what year it was released, but I think it was 2005-2006 when the Flames lost to the Mighty Ducks in the Conference Finals (3-4). The best line in the song?

Your defense like ‘Efense’… where’s the ‘D’?

Spring 2010 – Game 7 vs Team Ecker (Bob Smith)

March 13, 2010 View Comments

During the Spring Men’s League session there is one week per year where the Missouri State players are out of town for Spring Break. The majority of A League teams are comprised of Mo State players so during this week there is a real lull in attendance. Team JD and Team Finnegans joined forces, along with the help of a few B League All-Stars, to have enough players for both games.

In the first game vs Ecker, Brian Moseley scored first by forcing the play behind the net, stripping a defensemen, and finishing on a  wrap around. The game went to an 11-11 shootout after Team Ecker scored with 20 seconds in the game to tie. Team JD lost in the shootout.

In the second game Team JD/Team Finnegans won vs Team Sperr 11-6 in an easy contest.

LOSS 12-11 (Shootout)

John Buccigross Responds to Sidney Crosby Attackers

March 8, 2010 View Comments

Bucci is brilliant, plain and simple. With this post defending Sidney Crosby to the millions of hockey haters out there, he has just surpassed the great Barry Melrose in my book. People wrote in to him saying that it ‘ruined’ the Olympic experience to have Sidney Crosby score the game winner. Someone even said that Canada would have still won the Gold without Crosby. Bucci’s response was so spot on, it’s crazy. Give this man Bettman’s job and call it a day.

“I watch parts of just about every NHL game. I don’t watch “Lost” or “Dancing with the Stars” or “Idol.” I watch NHL hockey every night I’m home. These are my observations:

1. Crosby rarely whines. In fact, he is one of the more subdued players in the NHL. That is a fact. If you believe otherwise, you haven’t seen a large sample of his games this season.

2. To call him overrated is as implausibly mind-boggling as calling Lady Gaga underrated. He wins faceoffs, he scores goals, he is the best passer in the NHL, he backchecks, he’s completely committed to his craft, he carries his franchise’s media load and has since he was 18. No one has had more asked of him over the past five years than Crosby.

3. Crosby has a scoring title, an MVP award, a Stanley Cup and an overtime gold medal-winning goal. He’s 22. He’s good. Try to enjoy him like the NBA fans who aren’t Cavaliers fans enjoy LeBron James and baseball fans who aren’t Cardinals fans enjoy Albert Pujols.

I have a difficult time detesting anything in life except Michael Bolton covering Otis Redding songs. That’s it.

I agree, agree, agree, agree, agree.

Spring 2010 – Game 6 vs Finnegans

March 4, 2010 View Comments

After a decent 1st period the score was tied 3-3. Team JD let down as usual in the 2nd period, just to make things interesting. Going into the 3rd the score was 3-6 and Finnegans started to celebrate after every goal. This only served to make Team JD mad enough to score 6 goals in the 3rd period to win 9-6.

  • Chris Moseley – 2 goals, 1 assist
  • Brian Moseley – 1 goal, 2 assists

WIN 9-6

Spirit goaltender Nate Fairbank stopped the final St. Joe shot to advance Springfield to the Semi’s.
