I work on the North Shore so during my daily commute I cross the Auckland Harbor Bridge. When I cross the bridge the sun is either rising or setting over the harbor which makes the thousands of boats look very picturesque. Being landlocked from St. Louis, sailing has always really intrigued me. One day I went down to the Ponsonby Cruising Club to see what I could find about learning to sail. A skipper I talked to offered me a spectator seat for the weekly “Rum Race”. Here is some video from that trip:
Ever since then I’ve been determined to learn how to sail so I’m taking lessons next week.
I’ve always wanted to learn to sail, so while in New Zealand I’m attempting to find someone who can teach me. Here’s the flyer I hung in the Auckland Marina.

I’m wearing jersey number #8 (with black runners). Also wearing a cage in a few shots because of a broken nose. HUGE thanks to Phil Lyle for putting together this amazing video. Thanks Phil!!
After beating the Southern Stampede in an action packed weekend, my Swedish roommate (Ziggy) talked me into doing the Nevis Bungy while in Queenstown. The Nevis (AJ Hackett) Bungy is the highest in all of Australia & New Zealand coming in at 134m (440ft). The platform is located on cable car is suspended over the canyon. It was intense!
