Swarm Rookie Initiation [VIDEO]

This is the rookie initiation for the Botany Swarm (New Zealand) Ice Hockey team called the “Mystery Skate” after the popular hokcey movie “Mystery Alaska”. After the 1st win at home the Swarm rookies and imports come back onto the ice in front of the home crowd in only their jock straps, skate 2 laps and slide on the freshly surfaced patch of ice. Style points are awarded for creativity.

My Botany Swarm hockey team was in Christchurch the weekend of May 22nd (3 months after the February 22nd earthquake in Canterbury, New Zealand). Here is a video of us driving around looking at some of the more visible damage.
